Church Service Today at My Grandma’s (still have goosebumps)

// March 11th, 2007 // Joe's Blog

WOW! That’s pretty much all I can say in regards to today’s church service at my grandmother’s down in Pike County, Kentucky. She is a member of the Energyville, Freewill Baptist church and it’s about a 30 minute ride from here at home. The reason we were in service together today was because some dear close friends of ours The May Family were singing. This family sends chills down my spine with their tight-knit harmony, spiritual singing and humbleness. When Rayburn May, the male vocalist of the group sings, if you’re a Christian or not, I bet it would do the same to you. It’s 100% pure Bible-Belt Gospel singing, and is something that my family is very fond of, including me! Call it old-fashioned, redneck or hillbiilly, but it’s pure heart and God felt singing.

I took the liberty to record the singing portion of this morning’s service for my online blog, and I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I. It’s something uplifting for everyone, and you can definitely tell the church warmly responded their arrival in Pike County from Kermit, West Virginia. You can be assured this won’t be the last time the May and Burke families are in service together.
